Waterloo

AAR 1

From: MAJ Pete Panzeri, Organizer

One comment from me as to the course of events and "winners and losers."

We can't say the French lost. We can say both sides avoided defeat. Everybody won some things, everybody lost some things. The French won more of the fights, had the least casualties, retreated less from defended positions, and put Brussels in check-mate. But still, the British Army was too elusive, and the Prussians had Napoleon's LOS/LOC (Line of Supply/Communication). Napoleon was unable to reach a "decisive battle" with either enemy army solo in the time given. (the main objective) Perhaps this is because BOTH sides played an operational maneuver approach rather than the often bloody attrition approach. We did reach the goal of getting many battle fought, and many operational rounds completed. Next campaign (as we learn more and more how to do this better) we will do more in advance, and get more done in the time we have. Thank you all for your input on this process, I enjoyed gaming with all of you. It was good fun!
